Steam Coil Air Pre-Heater

Multi-Max has been supplying fin type exchangers since last 15 years. We are one of the few manufacturers in the country to have in-house facilities for fabricating crimped fin and wire wound fin exchangers. The crimped fin (in L, G shape configurations) is used for Air coolers/heaters and other low pressure gas heat exchangers. The wire wound fin is specially used in Power and Nuclear sector installations due to its high heat transfer efficiency although at the cost of higher pressure drop.

Integral Finned Heat Exchanger

Multi-Max has successfully supplied integral finned U-tube heat exchangers to NTPC Auraiyya for their turbine oil cooler. The integral finning was of 1.5 pitch and 0.7g deep v-grooved on SS304L tubes.

Our capability on integral finning is as follows:

Crimped Fin (Helical) Heat Exchanger

Multi-Max manufactures tension wound spiral crimped fin tubes with or without root soldering. Solders used withstand tube wall temperatures up to 175 C. Special solders are used for temperatures between 175 C and 296 C. These fin tubes are not suitable for tube wall temperatures exceeding 300 C.

Wire wound fin Heat Exchanger

Wire wound fin tube consists of a base tube with oval or near rectangular loops formed of wire which are wound helically over the tube with root soldering of foot of every loop to the tube. The loop of wire creates greater turbulence thereby increasing the heat transfer coefficient. Root soldering along the entire length eliminates almost all air gaps between the fin and the tube. For most applications, wire wound fin tubes make it possible to design a much compact heat exchanger coupled with lower pressure drop compared to conventional fin tubes.

Multi-Max has indigenously developed machines to supply wire wound root soldered fin tubes. The loops of wire are continuously root soldered on the finning machine. Infinite combination of loops per turn and turns per foot are possible. Solders used withstand tube wall temperatures up to 175 deg C. Special solders are used for temperatures between 175 C and 290 C. Wire wound tubes are not suitable for tube wall temperatures exceeding 290 C.
